…SNOW ACROSS FAR SOUTHERN IOWA THIS AFTERNOON…
.After fighting dry air aloft for much of the morning, snow has
finally started over far southern Iowa toward the Missouri border at
midday. This should persist across the southern one or two tiers of
Iowa counties into the afternoon. Roads may quickly become snow
covered with low visibilities making for hazardous travel.
* WHAT…Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations between 3 and 5
inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
* WHERE…Portions of south central, southeast, and southwest Iowa.
* WHEN…Until 3 AM CST Monday.
* IMPACTS…Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road
conditions.
