lingering snow showers remain in the area for another few hours.
For the Winter Storm Warning, heavy snow. Snow accumulations of 3
to 8 inches below 6500 ft with 8 to 20 inches above 6500 feet.
Snow accumulations of 6 to 14 inches west of Highway 89 with up to
30 inches along the Sierra crest. Ridge winds gusting up to 120
mph. Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph and wave
heights of 2 to 4 feet on Lake Tahoe.
* WHERE…Greater Lake Tahoe Area.
* WHEN…From 1 PM Friday to 10 PM PST Saturday.
* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The
hazardous conditions could impact the Friday and Saturday
commutes. Very strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees
and power lines. Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be
prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until
conditions improve.
