As winds continue to set up from the northwest this morning, a
band of lake effect snow is expected to develop somewhere between
the eastern Ohio counties and northwestern PA counties. The
snowband is expected to fully develop after 13Z and will lead to
rapid snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches and localized spots of
3 inches or greater. Visibilities within the band will be reduced
to near zero at times. It is possible that further SPS’s will be
needed to highlight stronger portions of the band or even perhaps
a Snow Squall Warning. This SPS will expire at 13Z to allow for
identifying more targeted areas of higher snowfall later in the
morning and for the rest of the day.
