…SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS AND SNOW SQUALLS EXPECTED LATE THIS
AFTERNOON AND EVENING…
A band of light snow continues to move eastward across southern
Indiana and central Kentucky this morning. This band will
intensify some as it works east of I-65 into the Bluegrass.
Temperatures this morning are already around the freezing mark and
could fall briefly below freezing before sunrise. Minor
accumulations of snow will be possible east of I-65. The recent
warmth and warm ground temps will likely limit snow accumulations
to elevated decks and roof tops. While road surface temperatures
are expected to remain in the mid-upper 30s, bridges and
overpasses could become slick this morning. If you have travel
plans, stay abreast of the latest forecasts and weather
conditions.
Scattered snow showers and isolated snow squalls are expected to
develop later this afternoon and continue into the evening hours.
Little if any accumulation is expected during the afternoon.
However, temperatures will drop to near freezing after sunset
which may result in slick spots developing on roads where the snow
showers and snow squalls cross. Motorists traveling late this
afternoon and evening should exercise caution.
