A storm force front will advance across the Gulf of Alaska late
Sunday night, bringing winds of up to 50 kts across the Gulf and
the outer coastal waters. Wave heights across the outer coastal
waters could reach as high as 30 ft in some locations as the
system moves through. Winds in the inner channels will likewise
surge to strong small craft intensity, with winds of 25 to 30 kt
anticipated. There is a brief break for winds and waves on
Wednesday.
Mariners should heed caution and expect significant seas out over
the outer coastal waters during this time, and a surge in winds
in the inner channels as the front works its way through the
panhandle.
