Flood Advisory issued January 9 at 11:13PM CST until January 10 at 2:15AM CST by NWS Houston/Galveston TX

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE…A portion of southeast Texas, including the following
county, Galveston.

* WHEN…Until 215 AM CST.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 1112 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
have fallen.
– Additional rainfall amounts of 0.75 to 1.5 inches are
expected over the area. This additional rain will result in
minor flooding. Elevated water levels as high tide approaches
may inhibit drainage of runoff.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Galveston Causeway, Galveston Island West End, Galveston Pier
21, Galveston Island East End, Moody Gardens, Galveston
Pleasure Pier, The Strand, Schlitterbahn, Offatts Bayou,
Scholes Field and Pelican Island.
