High water continues along the Anchor River below Old Sterling
Highway from ice jams moving downriver. Water levels are expected
to gradually fall through the next few days as the impounded water
moves through the system.

Sterling Highway and the Anchor River State Recreation Area.
* WHEN…Until 115 PM AKST Thursday.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water continues to flow over roadways.

– This morning, emergency management reported flooding
continued along the Anchor River from the Old Sterling
Highway downstream. Most of the ice has moved through the
system, however impounded water from ice action has continued
to flood roads and low areas along the river.
